“To Love and To Know” Sermon

To Love and To Know, by Chase Tremaine, 21. Juli 2013

(From last week):

The heart includes the mind as the center of intellect, emotions, reasoning, etc.

1. Learning and discernment are meant for both the mind and the heart.

1 Kings 3:9, Proverbs 3:5-6, Romans 12:1-3

2. With continued learning comes both the respect of God and the will of God.

Proverbs 1:7, 2:5, Colossians 1:9-10

3. Learning has reached your heart when what you know in your mind also affects your speech, sight, and direction.

Proverbs 1:2-5, 2:10-12,16,20, 4:23-27, Philippians 4:7-9, Titus 1:15-16, Colossians 3:1-17

The Will of God:                   (Colossians 1:10)                              (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

1. Jesus————————-living worthy of and pleasing to——————-rejoicing always

2. Holy Spirit——————–bearing fruit———————————praying without ceasing

3. God—————————growing in knowledge———————–being always thankful
